It has been widely observed that we are experiencing a strong reversal of alleged global warming

The sun is in the midst of the deepest solar minimum in a century, including a recent run of more than 51 straight days without a sunspot—the fourth longest such absence of the solar weather phenomenon since 1849, according to this chart.

The sun has been becalmed for more than two years now, long enough to cause some observers to ask whether we are entering a repeat of the Maunder Minimum, the late 1600s-early 1700s period of solar inactivity that coincided with a global drop in temperatures and prolonged severe winters in Europe and North America.

Back in June, a press release from NASA's National Solar Observatory assured us that Maunder II wasn't likely to happen. But now, the observatory's astronomers have turned up evidence that sunspots indeed be in the process of a long decline—one that might possibly lead to another Maunder—like period of low activity.

Sunspot decrease may cause serious global cooling

The NSO's Bill Livingston and Matt Penn, who have been measuring sunspots for 17 years, has found that sunspot magnetism has decreased dramatically during that period. Here's a chart that illustrates the decline.

"Sunspot magnetic fields are dropping by about 50 gauss per year," Penn noted in a NASA press release. "If we extrapolate this trend into the future, sunspots could completely vanish around the year 2015."

This disappearing act is possible because sunspots are made of magnetism. The "firmament" of a sunspot is not matter but rather a strong magnetic field that appears dark because it blocks the upflow of heat from the sun's interior. If Earth lost its magnetic field, the solid planet would remain intact, but if a sunspot loses its magnetism, it ceases to exist.

"According to our measurements, sunspots seem to form only if the magnetic field is stronger than about 1500 gauss," according to Livingston. "If the current trend continues, we'll hit that threshold in the near future, and solar magnetic fields would become too weak to form sunspots."

Livingston's and Penn's findings reportedly have provoked controversy in the world of solar physics, in part because of the possible inference that we may be moving into a period of low solar activity with Maunder-like effects. Political conservatives such as columnist Jonah Goldberg, who are opposed to restricting carbon emissions and other measures to curb climate change, have speculated that a shift in solar weather might reverse the global warming trend without human intervention.
Climate scientists, however, say that they factor solar activity into their climate change models. Sami Solanski, a solar weather researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Germany, told New Scientist in 2006 that sunspot activity is responsible for only 30 percent of the increase in global temperatures since 1970.

Global warming, while it was an observable trend in the 1990's, seems to be reversing. A single decade, of course in insufficient data to understand if warming is real.

There are also serious questions as to the validity of measurements, particularly ocean surface temperature measurements which appear to have been fraudulently obtained. This is coincidentally the only measurement that concludes that warming is real, to the tune of 0.6° in the last 140 years. This insignificant rise could certainly have alternate explanations than that currently being touted.

The founder of the Weather Channel is ridiculing Al Gore over his calls for action on global climate change, saying in a column that global warming is a "hoax" and "bad science."

John Coleman, now a weatherman at San Diego's KUSI, wrote on his station's Web site Wednesday that Gore refuses to acknowledge the faulty research on which the idea of global warming is based.

Coleman's lengthy scolding came as the former vice president and Nobel Peace Prize winner addressed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and urged lawmakers to pass a bill that would put caps on heat-trapping gases and take the lead on a global climate treaty.

Coleman wrote that the Environmental Protection Agency is "on the verge" of naming CO² (carbon dioxide) as a pollutant, and that seemingly all of Washington is on board with such CO² silliness."

"I am totally convinced there is no scientific basis for any of it," Coleman wrote, describing the decades-old theory that increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere leads to global warming.

"Global Warming. It is the hoax. It is bad science. It is a high jacking of public policy. It is no joke. It is the greatest scam in history," Coleman wrote.

Would politicians want to con us about global warming? The issue certainly has been exploited in trying to collect CO² taxes.

... would China be paying CO² taxes? After all our CO² output compared to theirs is 6 seconds per year...

If cap and trade passes, not only will our fair country be crippled by new taxes. Billions in third world countries will die because we will no longer be able to provide them with cheap food.

Rhetoric aside, Obama took up right were Bush left off. They are all screwing us in a major way. Most of their decisions seem to be wrong-headed.

Where Bush left off with 9/11, the patriot act that dismantles a major portion of our constitutional rights, and the escalating war in Iraq, Obama stepped right in and took every single policy further.

He pulled a few troops from Iraq, and put them in Afghanistan, replacing them with mercenaries. The troop count has dramatically increased. He is furthering aggressions toward a significantly larger fraction of the world. He promised unions that he would do away with NAFTA, while his aide called Canada with a wink and a nod about it being "campaign rhetoric". Now he plans to illegally take the chair of the U.N.

Recent scams on Wall street have robbed Americans of funds that would have paid every mortgage in the country 3 times over. When Obama took office, he filled his entire cabinet with the same criminals that stole this money.

So while global warming remains an enigma, what is certain is that America will become a shadow of itself and billions will die if this legislation is passed. Obama is on record calling for a "New spirit of sacrifice". Does his vision go as far as Hitlers' did? Will people gladly enter the gas chambers for a fictitious "World Good"?

Since Bush did away with Posse Comitatus. The population of the US, can be easily controlled, as they are merged into the new one world government: financed by stealing what little wealth hasn't already been stolen.

Obama has now called for 400,000 troops deployed in the US next year, in addition to all the civilian troops he is recruiting. He has systematically done the opposite of his campaign promises from the moment he took office.Did Joe Wilson have good reason to assert on television "You Lie"? Do your own research.
